A Termesphere is a spherical painting that captures a 360-degree view using a unique six-point perspective system.

A Termesphere is a spherical painting that captures the entire visual world; up, down, and all around. Using Dick Termes' unique six-point perspective system. Painted on the outside of a spinning sphere, each Termesphere offers a 360-degree view of an entire environment from one central point in space.

Developed by artist Dick Termes in 1968, this optical illusion turns traditional perspective inside-out. Unlike a flat canvas, which shows only a slice of reality, a Termesphere holds an entire environment upon the sphere. Every surface is part of one continuous, interconnected scene: skies wrap into horizons, floors curve into ceilings, and walls bend around until they meet again. It’s as if you stepped inside a room and painted everything you saw, then flipped it around onto the surface of a sphere. This creates not just a painting, but a total world contained within a single, seamless shape.
