16″ 2005
This 16″ diameter spherical painting was commissioned by Alyce Schavone from Spearfish South Dakota. She and her late husband Tony were great Cubbies fans. I flew to Chicago to see a Cubs game and took three Total Photos inside the stadium. I also took many random photos of the fans as that is such a large part of what Old Ball Game is about. While painting the sphere many of the fans became people that were Cubs fan that live in Spearfish and were friends of Alyce. The sky above the field has Sammy Sosa, Harry Carry, Babe Ruth pointing to the fence and others that played at Wrigley Field. My objective to get capture the feeling of Wrigley Field the second oldest baseball stadium in America.
