Hagia Sophia
24" (2000) Hagia Sophia is sometimes called Santa Sophia or the Church of Holy Wisdom. It was built between 532-537 and still stands as one of the greatest architectural triumphs of all times. The dome is 108 feet in diameter. Termes floats you some forty feet off the floor where you see everything above, below and all around inside this great building in Istanbul. It is a great art depiction of a structure that houses two religions, Christianity and the Muslim religion. Today it is a museum. This entry was posted on September 22, 2009, 5:46 pm and is filed under . You can follow any responses to this entry through RSS 2.0.
