A Book On Perspective

This forty-page book takes you from traditional Renaissance, one and two point perspective, all the way to six point perspective. Six point allows you to draw the total up, down, and all around scene. Grids can be copied to help students move through these different systems very quickly. It gives students and artists a whole new way of thinking.

REVIEW:

Artist Dick Termes has created a remarkable book that teaches one-point through six-point perspective. This book takes the artist by the hand and gives practical, yet comprehensive exercises that explain how to achieve extraordinary viewpoints in their work. The back of the book contains sample perspective grids that the artist can place under their sheet of drawing paper. This acts as a guideline or cheat sheet so that the artist can better visualize how the lines of various perspectives work.

What I love about this book is that it is all “hands on”. You begin learning techniques immediately, which enables you to create beautiful unique designs. You begin to see the world around you in a very different way. By adding four point, five point, or six point perspective to your designs, you can draw an entire room and see ALL the sides of the room. This includes viewpoints for seeing the ceiling, floor, and what is behind you, in the same drawing! The artistic possibilities for pushing your creativity are endless! This is an excellent gift for any artist, hobbyist, or anyone who dabbles in drawing. This artist’s work will inspire you and if you love the work of Escher, this will astound you.
